This evidence-based program is designed for managers who want to integrate mental health awareness into their daily practice at a non-clinical level. Building on the skills developed in the Wellbeing 1st Responder training, this course enables managers to address mental health and safety needs effectively within their teams.
Students will learn how to encourage conversations about wellbeing and mental health in the workplace, exploring ways to break down stigma and foster a positive culture. The program promotes the importance of monitoring personal wellbeing, emphasizing mindfulness, scope of practice, and boundaries. Wellbeing 1st Responders work to ensure team members feel valued, worthy of support, and know where to find the resources they need.
Additionally, the course equips managers to handle difficult scenarios and navigate the power gradient: finding the balance of being supportive while maintaining focus on business objectives. It enhances the skills of Mental Health First Aiders, providing them with a deeper level of knowledge to contribute to a robust wellbeing culture and empower colleagues to proactively address wellbeing challenges.
This training empowers managers to create a supportive workplace environment, respond to mental health needs, and support their teams effectively without compromising on business goals.

I liked the tutors overview of the 4Ds and then the opportunity to discuss in breakout groups possible approaches to how we might engage people at the different D stages in conversation. Great sharing of ideas and experience.
